Here is a list of additional optional activities available to scouts, most of them offered by the Middle Tennessee Council. These may not currently be part of the troop schedule, but scouts are encouraged to participate in them.

9/26/09	BSA Sporting Clays Fun Shoot	Registration deadline August 14th.
10/2-3/09	Grimes Canoe Race	$15 fee covers tent, canoe, lunch and awards. 7 mile race.
10/17/09	Merit Badge University	$12 fee covers course materials. Deadline 10/2. Clarksville TN.
11/2/09	Grimes Canoe Base Closes
12/27-31/09	Boxwell Winter Camp	$85 (financial assistance available).
12/28/09	Intro to Venturing & Sea Scouts	For both scouts and adults - held at winter camp.
3/26/10	Grimes Canoe Base Opens
3/26-28/10	Fire & Rescue / EMS Weekend
5/29/10	National Cemetery Flag Placement	Chattanooga or Madison TN

Plan these treks a year in advance. Our council office forms contingent troops for these events.

Summer/Fall	Philmont Scout Ranch - N. Mex. Horseback cavalcades, burro packing, gold panning, chuckwagon dinners...
